Ready to dive into the SHL universe? Schüler Helfen Leben offers various workshops and seminars throughout the year that you can participate in. As a member of the organization, you can not only participate in our forums, but also make directional decisions. Or do you feel like participating in one of the activists’ actions, such as the next “Your City Makes Noise Concert”?
Do you want to bring your photography skills on a new level? Or do you want to create your own short films, reels or tik tok videos? And do you want to meet young people from all over Europe and discuss important social issues? Then join our photography and filming workshop “Picturing Solidarity”. One experienced photographer and a movie maker will be your trainers during the weekend. They will share all their expertise, methods, tools and tricks with you. At the same time, you will have time to practically try out what you have learnt and create a small film or photo project about the topic solidarity.
Do you want to give trainings, or improve your moderation skills? Or do you want to get ready to supervise groups of children & youth? Join our facilitation seminar! In this seminar you will learn how to design trainings and workshops, how group dynamics evolve and everything about youth protection. You will also practice different methods for moderating, visualising or group interaction. The training is part of our skills training series. It provides impulses, orientation and knowledge for young people and strengthens them in their voluntary work. For every training course, participants will receive a certificate of participation.
Climate Change and rising global temperatures are no longer only concerns of scientists and small groups of environmental activists. The public seems to know, there is something happening to this planet and that there is a need for action. More and more people become part of movements such as Fridays for Future or Extinction Rebellion. Sustainability is the new focus, from personal lifestyle to business development. However, we find ourselves in discussions with people who believe climate change is nothing but a hoax, whilst certain regions in Europe and all around the world are already experiencing its impacts. Politicians seem to care more about being re-elected than bringing innovative and strict policies for climate protection on the way. But is that really the case? Where do we stand in Europe? What does the 1.5°C-goal mean? And what is our vision of a sustainable future? We want to ask ourselves how we can influence these developments in our own lifestyle but also whose responsibility sustainability is in general.

How does social inequality manifest itself and what does the term classism actually mean? When people are treated differently because of their educational background, type of job or wage level, this form of discrimination is called classicism. Within this seminar, we would like to invite you to think about this topic and to reflect on your own social position and social background – because in order to achieve solidarity and equal opportunities in society we need to recognize this phenomenon and address it. Together we would also like to discuss what influence class and class origin has on our opinions and actions and how this might also affect, for example, our own social engagement.
