By organising the Social Day in Albania, AS@N (Albanian Students Abroad Network) gives young people the opportunity to draw attention to their issues and become active themselves.

Youth involvement is not a matter of course in Albania and is not promoted by the authorities and society as much as it should be. However, with an average age of less than 35 years, Albania is a “young society” in which the concerns of young people should be given special priority.
To make young people’s demands heard, AS@N organises activities and events that encourage students to raise their voices and strengthen their role as important actors in Albanian society. Not only students benefit from the project, but also their families, teachers, head teachers and their social environment. Thus, the impact of this project reaches into Albanian society and can – starting on a small scale – have a lasting effect on a large scale.
AS@N, with the support of SHL, organised the Social Day in Albania for the first time in 2020 and did not let the Corona pandemic stop its success. Through home office solutions and intensive coordination with employers, students and public authorities, they found ways that can be adopted in 2021 and beyond.
